Product Details

Windmill aerators are an excellent supplemental solution to electric aeration systems, and they provide a solution for ponds in remote locations. With as little as 3-5 mph, these U.S. manufactured windmills can provide air to a single air stone. For larger or irregular-shaped ponds, it may be upgraded to a two-stone system in high-wind areas. If necessary, windmill aerators may be placed several hundred feet from the pond's edge to catch more wind. Windmill Aerators are recommended for ponds up to 1 acre and less than 15 feet deep. The head and tail are the same for all sizes, only the height of the tower changes. The taller the tower, the more wind the windmill can access.

Also available as a 4-leg Galvanized Windmill package. Want a more nostalgic look and feel from your pond aeration windmill? The 4-leg Wooden Windmill is a masterpiece in design with cedar-colored pressure-treated wood. This pond-aeration windmill will look great for a long time!

ALL WINDMILLS INCLUDE: 100' poly tubing (non-weighted), air stone, check valve, anchor stakes.

WINDMILL ACCESSORIES:
Airmax EasySet Weighted Airline: Designed to lie flat on the bottom of your pond.
Windmill Diffuser Air Stone with Backflow Valve and 2-Way Valve: Using an additional stone, you can aerate more effectively. Includes an additional air stone, backflow valve, and 2-way selector valve for equalizing airflow. Airlines are sold separately.
Windmill Freeze Control System: Designed for northern climates, condensation can build up and cause airlines to become frozen. Use with ethanol (rubbing alcohol).
Windmill Tower Hinges: Installing these special hinges will allow you to pivot your windmill up and down, making it easier to install and service.

ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED ON ALL WINDMILLS!

Please Note: The Pond Guy does not recommend relying solely on pond windmill aeration. Wind, as a source of power, is inconsistent in many locations. Generally, the wind is weakest during the hottest part of the day, when aeration is most important. If an electric power source is within 1,000 feet of the pond's edge, an Airmax Aeration System will meet and exceed your aeration needs.

How to Use

Assembly is required. Windmills can be installed at the edge of your pond utilizing the 100' poly tubing (included) or several hundred feet away utilizing Airmax Direct Burial Airline* (Sold Separately). The airstone should be placed near the deepest area of your pond. Please note: If you are using multiple air stones, you will need to adjust your airflow. Air follows the path of least resistance, so it will go to shallower air stones first.

*Airmax Direct Burial Airline should be used when trenching airline underground while Airmax EasySet Weighted Airline is intended for underwater use.
