Aquascape Signature Series Pond Skimmer Cutaway

The Aquascape Signature Series Pond Skimmers are ideal for ponds that are placed beneath trees or get a lot of floating debris. A pond skimmer is an integral component of a balanced ecosystem. By removing the debris before it sinks to the bottom of the pond. Aquascape Signature Series Pond Skimmers can reduce timely maintenance and prevent tea-colored or murky water and prevent the accumulation of pond muck. Ideal for ponds up to 1,000 sq ft and pumps up to 10,000 gph.

Durable Construction Protects Pond Pump

UV Protected, High-Density Polyethylene
Withstands Freeze-Thaw Conditions
Shaped for Maximum Strength
Protects & Camouflages the Pond Pump

The extremely durable, UV protected, high-density polyethylene construction and the rounded shape and curved edges maximize the strength of the filter when buried in the ground, enabling installation in freeze-thaw conditions. This feature prevents the filter box from bending or distorting over time. The filter and lid provide a protected location for the internal components and pump, extending the pump life. Each filter box is backed by a lifetime warranty and has corrosion-resistant, non-cross-threading hardware to stand up to the elements.

Recommend Location

To maximize circulation, we recommend placing the skimmer filter directly across from a waterfall. If you do not have a waterfall, use your area's prevailing winds to determine where you should place your skimmer along the longest axis. Use the wind to help push the debris toward the skimmer box.

General Maintenance

The skimmer is designed to sweep the surface of the water, so this is free from debris. The debris net or basket inside the skimmer is the first filter stage of the skimmer. The net or basket will collect leaves, twigs, seeds, and other pond debris. It takes approximately two to three minutes every other week to empty the net or basket. More frequent changes will be required during the fall and spring because of the number of leaves falling off the surrounding trees.

It is a good habit during your first season with the pond to periodically lift the skimmer lid and check the quantity of debris in the net or basket. This is especially true in the fall. Keep a mental note as to how often your net must be emptied. It is important that the debris net or basket is not allowed to become too full. Too much debris can reduce the water flow to the pump.
