Product Details
CrystalClear PondAir Aeration Kits are ideal for decorative ponds and water gardens of up to 2,000 gallons with a maximum depth of two feet. Powered by highly efficient diaphragm compressors, CrystalClear PondAir Aeration Kits infuse your pond with life-giving oxygen while remaining whisper-quiet and cost-effective. An airflow control valve on the top of the pond aerator lets you adjust the aeration output to your pond with the simple turn of a dial.
If you experience murky water, debris accumulation, or struggle to maintain a healthy fish population, your pond may lack oxygen and proper circulation. As water temperatures rise and debris accumulates, the available oxygen in your pond’s water plummets.
CrystalClear PondAir aeration kits are perfect for aerating water gardens and koi ponds to ensure sufficient circulation and oxygen is available throughout the pond.
This koi pond aerator creates an environment suitable for aerobic natural bacteria to flourish and continuously clean your pond water. Aquatic plants will thrive, water quality will improve, and you will reduce muck, algae, and foul odors.
Aeration kits are important during winter to help keep a hole in the ice. Maintaining a hole will vent toxic gases that can harm dormant fish. Looking for a de-icer to accompany your pond aeration kit? Try the PondAir & Floating Pond De-Icer Combo!
Choose between two aeration kit options based on your pond size. Each kit includes a diaphragm compressor with a six-foot power cord, two airstones, and flexible vinyl air tubing. Powered by a 115-volt compressor with a standard plug for household outlets.
Protect your investment from the outdoors with a professional TrueRock Mini Boulder Cover in greystone or sandstone. Fake rock covers protect and conceal the aerator from the elements all year while resembling real stones.
The PondAir pond aerator also works well in hydroponics, large aquariums, livestock tanks, and more.

Why Aerate?
The CrystalClear PondAir Aerator infuses oxygen into ponds, water gardens, and holding tanks to improve conditions for fish and other aquatic life. Aeration boosts beneficial bacteria that help with water clarity, as the tiny bubbles emitted from the air stones improve water circulation and increase dissolved oxygen levels to remedy poor water conditions. Additionally, the CrystalClear PondAir provides vital, vigorous aeration during high temperatures and chemical treatments.
How It Works
The small pond aerator infuses your pond with oxygen and circulates water while remaining quiet and cost-effective.
Maintenance
Compressor Diaphragm: The compressor diaphragm aeration pump can become worn over time. This will significantly reduce the unit's air output. We recommend replacing the diaphragm every 6-12 months.
Air Stones: Through everyday use, the air stones will eventually become clogged with buildup and debris. Periodically clean air stones throughout the season. We recommend replacing the air stones every season for maximum performance.
How to Install

Step 1: Place the air compressor in a shaded area on a stable, level surface above the water level in your pond.
Step 2: Connect the end of each of the included airlines to the compressor outlets, unroll the airline, and extend it towards the pond's edge while ensuring the line is not twisted or kinked.
Step 3: Cut approximately eight inches off the end of each airline and set aside.
Step 4: Install a check valve with the arrow pointing to the air stone onto the end of each airline coming from the compressor. Next, connect the eight-inch sections of airline to the exposed end of the check valve and finish by connecting the air stones to the airline.
Step 5: Plug the compressor into a standard 115-120V GFCI-protected outlet and position air stones evenly. Ensure the airflow control dial (on top of the unit) is turned all the way clockwise to allow for full power. Use the airflow control valve on the top of the pond aerator to adjust the aeration output strength as needed.
FAQs
If I have a pump that circulates water, do I need aeration?
Yes, aeration for koi ponds and water gardens is still highly recommended, even with a water circulator present, especially during chemical treatments or high temperatures.
Is the amount of air adjustable?
Yes, a dial on the top of the unit lets you control the amount of air being released into the water.
Do you have to use both aerator stones, or can you just use one?
Both air stones are intended to be used.
Is this compressor weatherproof?
No, the compressor should be placed on higher ground and covered so water cannot pool under the unit.
If I have a pump that circulates, do I need aeration?
Yes, aeration is still highly recommended, especially during treatments or high temperatures.
What happens if I put the air stones deeper than 2 ft?
This would wear out the diaphragm and possibly ruin the diaphragm.
Where should I place the compressor?
The compressor should be placed on dry, elevated ground to prevent water damage. Select a TrueRock Boulder Cover in greystone or sandstone for added protection and concealment.
How do I prevent airline tubing from kinking?
Ensure the airline tubing is laid out loosely and straight to avoid kinks. If needed, soak the tubing in warm water before installation to make it more flexible.
